Your safari begins in Arusha where you will be met by your tourAfrika guide and transferred to Rivertrees Country Inn, lying just 25 kilometres from Kilimanjaro International Airport and sitting snugly in the foothills of Mount Meru. Set in just outside the bustling safari town of Arusha, Rivertrees looks out toward Mt Kilimanjaro, and is perfectly situated for exploring the abundant nature reserves that this region is home to. It is the perfect overnight stop before your safari begins the following day; enjoy a stroll around the gardens before sitting down to dinner under a thatched roof. After breakfast at Rivertrees it is time to head for your first safari destination: Lake Manyara. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the centre point of this small and very beautiful, park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains and acacia forests, each offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. Elephant, hippo, giraffe, tree-climbing lions and baboons are just a few of the game that call Manyara ‘home’. Game drives take you into the Lake Manyara National Park. Situated in the ecosystem of lake Manyara, in fields of golden vegetation, Maramboi Tented Camp brings together premium services, exclusive attentions and genuine hospitality in this spectacular scene.

After breakfast we trek onto the Ngorongoro Highlands, you pass through an amusing rural landscape of traditional thatched villages and herdsmen with their cattle. Your destination is the town of Karatu, set in a rich agricultural area and Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge your accommodation for the next two nights. The Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge is a lovely lodge just outside of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Set in 750 acres of private farmland, it is comfortable, well laid out and has some lovely views across the farm and across to Oldeani Volcano. The next day is enjoyed on a full-day safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, home to Africa’s densest concentration of large mammals as well as all of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo), normally seen over the course of a single day.

After breakfast we head-off into the central Serengeti Reserve and Kati Kati Tented camp, mobile tented camp located in Central Serengeti, strategically located to cover the vast Serengeti Plains. The camp offers comfortable accommodation and a unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari camp experience. The camp is only a two hour scenic drive from Olduvai Gorge Museum and Grumeti River. One of nature’s greatest spectacles, the Migration sees nearly two million animals – wildebeest, zebra and gazelles – trekking through the Serengeti/Masai Mara ecosystem and drawing the attentions of Africa’s biggest predators: big cats, wild dogs and spotted hyenas. You have numerous game drives to look forward to and a traditional safari experience on your return to camp. Each with a separate Mess tent and five comfortable guests’ tents. This ensures that there is huge amount privacy and a wonderful sense of intimacy during your stay. Each group will have a private vehicle during their stay at the legendary mobile camp, which ensures an incredible attention to detail with wonderful private guides being able to cater for specific needs and requests.

You enjoy a final breakfast at Kati Kati Tented camp after which you are transferred on a short drive to a bush airstrip and a scheduled charter flight back to Arusha and on arrival you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to an onward connecting flight and this concludes your memorable Best of Tanzania Lodge Safari.
