Visitors are met at any site of that is convenient to them in either Johannesburg or Pretoria and are shuttle transferred to the airport for a flight to Hoedspruit, where the 12 Day Southern African VOYAGE tour. HOEDSPRUIT is a small tourism and agriculturally orientated town in the Central Lowveld nestled between the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon. Visitors will be met at Hoedspruit Airport from where they transferred to the Moholoholo Forest Lodge. Moholoholo Forest Camp nestles on the slopes of the 1,944 metres high Mariepskop, one of the highest peaks of the Drakensberg range in this area. This affords a breath-taking view of the towering mountains and vertical cliffs on one side and the rolling Eastern Transvaal Lowveld savanna towards Kruger Park on the other. The late afternoon will be spent at leisure.

During the morning we call in on Moholoholo Animal Rehab Center, where wounded or sick animals are taken in and, when they have recovered, they are ushered into their natural surroundings. Animals not able to fully recover are tended to by the centre and are employed to teach the visitors of Moholoholo. The afternoon you will experience sightseeing the area neighbouring the centre on foot, with the possibility of observing various game species that may include certain members of the Big Five. In the late afternoon, visitors will commence with game drive which stretches into the early evening. This encounter gives visitors the opportunity to sight the nocturnal mammals of Africa in their natural environment.

Breakfast at Moholoholo is followed by a brief drive to the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. The reserve comprises of prime wildlife habitat; its western boundary forms part of the boundary of the two million hectare Greater Kruger National Park , which is one of the globe’s leading conservation region. The late afternoon is dedicated to a first game drive in the Timbavati in pursuit of Africa’s illustrious Big Five. The region is home numerous other animal and bird species and gives connotation to the words “Spirit of Africa”. The game drives are perfomed by an experienced rangers and trackers in open 4×4 safari vehicle.

This day of your Timbavati Private Game Reserve safari will commence soon after sunrise, with coffee and snacks, before proceeding into the wild on an open four-wheel drive safari vehicle. The morning game drive of about three hours returns to camp for a late breakfast. Visitors are then given some time for to rest before relishing in lunch and then afterwards guests can experience a bush walk guided by an armed ranger. The late afternoon game drive is once undertaken to seek out the Big Five and the several antelope species that adorn the wilderness in this part of Africa.

On completion of the last morning game drive and breakfast visitors will be shuttle transferred to Nelspruit for a flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town, visitors will meet up with tourAfrika guide and check in at their hotel. Once check-in is completed guests will pay a visit to the oldest gardens in South Africa – the Company Gardens. It was founded in early 1652 by Jan van Riebeeck as a vegetable garden of which it was initially situated within walking distance to the coast. In his quest to farm on more fertile soils and on land protected from the airstreams, he relocated his garden with its northern boundary on Wale Street. This is where it is located today. A huge public park and botanical garden, it houses to Japanese garden, rose garden, aviary and fish pond.

Breakfast will be followed the climb Table Mountain accompanied, by your guide and hiking boots are to be worn. Table Mountain is part of the Table Mountain National Park and the mountain is a pronounced landmark overlooking Cape Town. It is prominent in the flag of Cape Town and other local government emblem. Due to steep cliffs near the summit, straight climb from the city side is resticted. Platteklip Gorge, a renowned gorge up the centre of the main ‘table’, is the utmost common and direct ascent to the peak. The climb takes between 1 and 3 hours, dependent on your fitness level. Visitors descend the mountain via the cable car. The afternoon is spent sightseeing the famous V&A Waterfront.

Early very morning breakfast is followed by a shuttle transfer to Gansbaai where a shark cage diving exploit is experienced. A boat trip (+/- 20 min) will lead to the anchoring site close to Dyer Island. The specific anchor location is selected dependent on weather and sea conditions, season and prior shark sightings. On arriving on the preferred location, the crew will start with the luring process. The timing of the initial shark emergence can take some time, and when it is sighted, its behaviour is observed by the crew. When the shark is determined to be at ease, the cage and divers can be sunk into the water. Snacks and drinks are available on the boat during the whole trip. When the cage diving experience is completed and the guests journey back to Cape Town.

After check-in. Hippo sightings are particularly common on the cruise and sometimes elephant will swim across the Zambezi as they move between Zimbabwe and Zambia and their favourite feeding areas. After the sunset cruise, guests are transferred back to their hotel.

The Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10, 566 square kilometres. It has one of the highest concentrations of mammals found on the African continent.
