Guests are met and welcome on arrival at O R Tambo International in Johannesburg. Following which they are helped in transferring to a flight bound for the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and the commencement of the 10 Day Best of South Africa Tour. The game reserve is part of the Greater Kruger National Park and is widely considered as a premium private game reserve in South Africa. Visitors are met by their ranger on arrival at Sabi Sand and are helped with check-in procedures. Lunch and afforded the opportunity to recuperate and after which the first afternoon game drive is undertaken into this distinctive wilderness region. The game drives are headed by your skilled and proficient ranger who is supported by a competent tracker. All safari drives are handled from the back of open 4×4 safari vehicle.

A wake-up knock on your door. Tea, coffee and ruskswill be served on the deck, followed by the game drive. Two game drives and a bush walk will bring guests close to the famous African Big Five, offering sightings of lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Daily bush walk takes place after breakfast and is a leisurely walk of about an hour. This is also the perfect period for birdwatchers to get a nearer look at their much-loved bird species. On the other hand, simply relax and re-energise at the Spa, beside the pool, in the library or around the lodge.

When the morning game drive has been completed, visitors can unwind at the pool or make use of the spa facilities on offer at Lion Sands. The remarkable Chapman’s Peak Drive, cut into the 650m high Chapman’s Peak, the tour traverses across the Noordhoek town to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. We then head to the world-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which were formed when mining magnate and philanthropist Cecil John Rhodes offered the land to the people of South Africa. The gardens are house to 4 000 of the 18 000 species of flora which are exist in South Africa and produce a most extraordinary exhibition.
